Dog Treat Gift Bags

Yesterday we spent the day baking cookies, and today we are making little gift bags for some doggie friends.

We purchased little pre-made muslin bags on which we attempted handstamping the contents. For fun, we added a little felt gift tag and a jingle bell. We found the pattern for the felt gift tags here on this tutorial.

* Yikes! It's that time of year again. Here are some helpful tips to help your pet deal with the stress, found via dogtime.com...
- Keep your dog inside, and if possible, don't leave him alone in the house.
- Drown out the noise of the fireworks as much as possible. Close your windows and turn on the radio or television. - Make sure he has access to his crate or "safe place" during the show, and casually toss him a treat once in a while.
- Act normal! Talk to your dog in an upbeat voice and go about your usual activities. Coddling or babying isn't advised: your dog takes his cues from you, so if he senses that you're confident and unafraid, he'll be more likely to respond in a similar manner.

* Rescue Remedy is a great product to help your pet relax...


* Melatonin can also be helpful.
You can find this at your neighborhood drug store. The people stuff works just fine. Stick it into a piece of cheese and serve.

* Herbal tonics with Valerian and Scullcap work great too.
You can find good herbal tonics at health food stores, holistic Vets, and at many pet supply stores.
