a medley of pureed vegetables with fruit

Tonight we made a pureed vegetable medley. Unfortunately, I didn't plan ahead, so we had to make do with what was in the refrigerator.
For this mix, we used: a bunch of collard greens, a little romaine lettuce, a bag of carrots, a tiny bit of celery, and a couple of apples.
We ended up making a pretty large batch of veggies, so we were able to freeze a lot of it.

Start with washing everything really well...

Chop up the fruit and veggies, then puree...
* tip~ if the mix is coming out chunky, pour a bit of water into the food processor with the veggies, and it will be a smoother mix

Mix the vegetables and fruit together. Drizzle on some apple cider vinegar & oil to 'lightly' coat the mix...

pour into tiny containers to freeze for later...

Meena & Heidi are going to do a little taste test. I topped it with a scoop of yogurt...

They loved it!
It's weird, Heidi will not eat the vegetables individually, but if they are all mixed together, she loves them.
This week we bought an assortment of meat to serve with their vegetable medley. You could also add some grains like cooked oats or rice. We tend to lay off the grains for dietary issues, but if you have an active dog that needs carbs, add some grains to the meat & veggies.

Enjoy! Mee & Dee xo
